Millions of broadband customers will see their bills increase in April 2025 – yet again. Even if you’ve just signed a contract at what seemed like a great price, your provider could still raise your bill mid-contract.

So, what does this mean for you, and how can you avoid it?

How will the price rises affect me?

If you’re with one of the major broadband providers (Sky, BT, TalkTalk, Vodafone, Plusnet or Virgin), your monthly bill will increase from April 1st, 2025 – even if you’re mid-contract.

For years, price rises were linked to inflation, leaving customers unsure about what they’d be paying. Now, Ofcom has ruled that for all new contracts from 2025 any price hikes must be clear and set in “pounds and pence” at the point of order.

But while this change makes pricing slightly more transparent, it doesn’t stop providers from raising your bill. 

That means if you’re with BT, Virgin, or Vodafone, you’re locked in to these price rises with no option to cancel.

How will my bill increase?

As an example, if you’ve recently signed up for a Full Fibre 150 service at under £30 a month, here’s how your bill could look after two years of price hikes:
