Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to the most common questions people ask us the most.

What is full fibre broadband?

Full fibre broadband, also called fibre to the premises or FTTP, uses fibre optic cables that run directly into your home. It delivers faster and more reliable internet than older part fibre or copper connections.

Yes. Copper cables carry data using electrical signals that lose strength over distance. Fibre optic cables use light, which travels faster and keeps its quality, giving you consistent speed and reliability.

Most installations take around two hours. Our engineers handle everything, from running the cable neatly to setting up your router.

Yes. If you use a home phone, we can set up a digital line so you can keep your number and make calls over your new full fibre connection.

We include a WiFi 7 router with every plan. It is simple to set up and powerful enough to handle every device in your home.

What if we grow and need more speed?
Just call us and we’ll upgrade your plan. No new install needed.

Add Zzoomm Business Phone (VoIP over your Full Fibre). Keep your numbers, get clearer calls, cut costs.
We work around your hours. Most installs take 2–4 hours.
Is switching to Zzoomm simple?

Yes. In most cases, we’ll handle the switch for you. If your current provider supports One Touch Switching, you don’t need to contact them at all, we take care of everything. If they don’t, we’ll help guide you through a simple manual switch. If you’re in contract elsewhere, early exit fees may apply, but many customers find the move worth it for faster speeds and fairer pricing.

One Touch Switching (OTS) is the easiest way to move your broadband to Zzoomm. You place your order, choose OTS, and we do the rest. Including contacting your current provider and coordinating the switch. Your Zzoomm connection goes live first, then your old service is cancelled automatically. No downtime. No cancellation calls. Just a smoother way to switch.

Also know as classic switching. If your provider doesn’t support OTS, you’ll need to arrange cancellation and installation dates yourself.

How long does installation take?

Most installations take around two hours. Our engineers handle everything, from running the cable neatly to setting up your router.

Yes, it’s easy to reschedule your Zzoomm Full Fibre installation if you need to pick a different date. You should have received a confirmation email or text when you booked your install. Simply click the link in that message to choose a new date that works for you. If you can’t find the email or text, you can also change it by logging into your Zzoomm customer portal and updating the appointment details there. If you need help at any point, our Customer Care team is happy to assist.

Connecting your home to the Zzoomm network is easy, our engineers will visit your property and do all the work. This typically takes less than two hours.

There are three different ways that we could install Zzoomm to your home. We call them: Installing via a small channel, installing via existing underground infrastructure and installing via overhead pole. The method that we use to install is determined by how we have had to design the network to bring Full Fibre broadband to your property. Unfortunately, you cannot choose another installation method.

Unlike some providers, we don’t charge for standard installation! However, if we think the installation will take longer than 4 hours, or is particularly complex, we’ll arrange a survey to discuss the best way forward. That survey will be free, and you will not pay anything to connect your service until we have agreed on how long it will take, and any additional costs required.

Yes, someone over 18 needs to be at the property during installation and sign off to approve the work.
