    Your questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about full fibre broadband, from how it works to what to expect when you switch. If you are wondering about something, chances are it is answered below.

    What is Zzoomm Home Phone?

Zzoomm Home Phone is a VoIP phone.

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol.  In plain English, it means making phone calls over your broadband connection instead of a traditional phone line.

No extra cables, no separate line rentral.  Your voice is converted into data and sent over the internet, just like an email or a video.

It sounds great, works reliably, and because it runs through your broadband, it’s one less thing to worry about.

Voice over Internet Protocol sends your call over broadband. Your voice becomes digital data and zips down the same Full Fibre line that powers your internet.

The result? Sharper sound, it’s cheaper to use and there’s one less bill.

Zzoomm Home Phone needs two things to work: your Zzoomm broadband and mains power for your router. If either goes off (internet outage or power cut), your home phone won’t work. Keep a charged mobile handy so you can still call 999. If you use a medical alarm or care system on your landline, ask your alarm provider if it works with VoIP before you switch, some older kits don’t

    • Zzoomm WiFi 7 hub:  You can plug your phone into the phone port on the back of the Zzoomm WiFi 7 hub. Job done. We’ll include an RJ11 adapter if you need one.
    • Any other Zzoomm router: We’ll send a phone adapter to connect your home phone to your Zzoomm router.

If you can plug in a phone, you can set this up. (And if you’d rather we talked you through it, call us.)

Almost always, yes, and it’s free. Share your current number and a few details, and we’ll handle the transfer. It typically takes around 12 working days. While that’s happening, we’ll give you a temporary phone number so you don’t miss calls.

Heads-up: don’t cancel with your old provider until we confirm your number’s moved, or you could lose it.

No. Numbers are assigned automatically when we set up your service.

No drama. You’re covered by our 30-day guarantee. If it’s not for you, call our UK team on 0333 311 9933 and we’ll sort it.
