What is One Touch Switch?
One Touch Switch (OTS) is an Ofcom‑backed process that lets you switch providers by only contacting the new provider (ofcom.org.uk). Whether you’re moving between the big networks (Openreach, Virgin Media, etc.) or between newer Full Fibre networks, OTS covers it. Zzoomm and virtually all major ISPs (BT, Sky, Virgin, EE, TalkTalk, plus most altnets like Hyperoptic, Cuckoo, Zen, YouFibre, etc.) are in this scheme. You simply tell us you want to switch, and we handle the everything else.
Step-by-Step: Your switch journey
- Choose your Zzoomm plan and pick your installation date: You pick a Zzoomm plan and a go-live date. When ordering, just give us your current ISP details.
- Tell us your info: In order to use OTS, we require a few bits of information from you. Your name, address, and current provider information.
- We do the legwork: Our team will contact your old provider and arrange the cancellation for you. So you don’t have to have that awkward conversation with them, we will! Your current provider may send you any contract exit details you might need. (You don’t have to lift a finger.)
- You approve: Check the details (they’ll include any early-termination fee if your old contract hasn’t ended). If you agree, just confirm with us. At that point, Zzoomm handles the switch – we set everything up for your chosen date installtion date.
- Start using Zzoomm: On the day of your Zzoomm install we’ll work with your current provider to ensure your service is swapped on the same day. We make sure you are not without internet for a minute longer than necessary, and your old service is cut off automatically.
Throughout the process, you only ever need to deal with Zzoomm. Your old provider is automatically notified and deactivated behind the scenes.
What it means for you
- No double billing: By law, you won’t pay for your old broadband beyond the switch date (ofcom.org.uk). You avoid the common problem of overlapping bills.
- Compensation if needed: If something goes wrong (e.g. you lose service for more than a day), providers must compensate you as per Ofcom’s rules (ofcom.org.uk).
- Faster, easier switching: The whole process is the same as before, except you don’t have to speak your old provider at all. It’s simply quicker and smoother.
